Did you know that if you force your children to finish their plate, you’re setting them up for a host of eating problems in the future?

Did you know that the number of depressed kids has more than doubled in the last 10 years, and prescriptions for antidepressants given to children have nearly tripled?

Did you know that having a simple iron deficiency as a child can lower IQ significantly and that, even after iron therapy, these children remain at an intellectual disadvantage?

Did you know that children spend so much time watching television and playing video games that their muscles and bones are not strong enough to perform simple exercises that children 30 years ago had no problem performing?

Some of the most frequent questions I get asked as a nutritional therapist are: what should I feed my child and how do I get my child to eat healthy. Parents and caretakers in the region, and all over the world, are confused when it comes to keeping their children healthy. They are either getting conflicting information from the media, they don’t have time to do the research and change their habits, or they really want to change but don’t know how. Whatever the reason, the result is the same. Children today have horrendous diets and it’s showing in their behaviour, their learning abilities, their immunity, their rising obesity rates, and their overall health. Things have to change!

For this reason, I wrote a book for parents and caretakers about HOW TO RAISE HEALTHY KIDS. This book, which is written in an easy-to-read fun format, includes lots of detailed nutrition and health information helpful, as well as tips and advice that you can apply to the whole family.

If you have children, or if you are in any way connected to children, then this book is great for you!

It is great for mothers as well as other caretakers such as parents, grandparents, teachers, and everybody! It will be all you need in order to understand how to make healthy food part of your children’s daily lives, how to establish positive eating habits, and how to make nutrition work for the whole family.

In this book, I cover several topics that are very relevant to the health of children today. Some of these topics include:

  • Common nutritional deficiencies in children and how to recognize them
  • Foods to AVOID in your child’s diet (e.g. how to steer children away from eating too much sugar)
  • Foods to ADD to your child’s diet (including super foods)
  • The question of Dairy – should you or shouldn’t you give your child a daily glass of milk?
  • Meals ideas and cooking options (what to serve on the table, cooking methods, healthy cooking with children, etc.)
  • Tips for the supermarket (making a healthy shopping list, how to read labels, how to shop, what to watch out for, shopping with children)
  • How to build positive food associations (making mealtimes fun for the whole family, introducing new foods, etc.)
  • How to build immunity and enhance your child’s natural defences
  • Quick help tips on dealing with common health issues today such as colds, infections, allergies, blood sugar imbalance, sleep problems, and more
